I wish my eyes were….

Do you remember back when the main way we got information wasn’t through a screen?

When phones and computers weren’t part of our everyday lives in the modern society/life?

My eyes are so tired from looking at the screen all day. I have friends that can look at a screen all day and not get tired. See,, I can’t do that. How does your eye not strain or dry out after 10 hours of looking at a screen? If I fall asleep while I look at my phone (which I don’t do anymore), my eyes are tired the next morning - I can feel my eyes physically tired/strained….

So a weird thing I used to do when I was younger when I couldn’t go to sleep was straining my eyes looking at my phone until my eyes would literally just shut. Then I’d be asleep. This was a terrible thing to do looking back because again, I’d wake up the next day and still have really tired/dried up eyes.

I think it’s just this season in my life where I’m staring at the screen for ages with:

  • University work (3 ~ 7 hours a day)

  • Work (3 - 8 hours a day)

  • Entertainment + personal work (30 minutes - 3 hours a day)

These are just the things I do all grouped together. I think it’s more so the case because I live alone and everyone’s in lockdown. Reading this blog makes me want to look after my eye health, which is something I don’t do and although I say this, I can see many things I can change in my life.

Does anyone have any tips? Let me know in the comments.

I wish my eyes were able to stare at the screen and not get fatigued………
