On the go

Monday

26/04/2021

I’m sitting here in my apartment with a semi-messy kitchen to the right of me, desk with food behind me and a small balcony with a view of the CBD to the left of me. It’s typical gloomy, overcast Melbourne weather outside. The sun will probably come out later. It’s Gray.

Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1 – Kanye West is playing in the background. Beautiful morning.

It’s the first Monday I’ve had in a long while not having to wake up at 4am to get ready for a lifeguard shift that goes from 5am – 9:30am. It’s nice to have a break from it.

It feels so good to be writing again.

“Not enough time”, I’d say. To be honest, I was just not mentally present and ready when it came to what I wanted to do.

At University, I’ve decided to take on 5 units. 1 second-year Korean Studies unit on Korean Language, Culture and Society, 4 third-year units on:

·      Korean literature taught in Korean

·      Oceanography, which also covers the use of QGIS

·      Catchment Hydrology

·      Environmental assessment and decision making

As of today, I’m 8 weeks in, which means I’ve gotten through ¾ of Semester 1.

I’m doing fine with it.

I realised it’s one of my dreams to do something with Oceanography.

Maybe I’ll tell you about how this happened another time.

The level of appreciation for my studies has gone up so much since first year,,, specifically towards my Major: Environmental Science

..I write about my University studies here just in case anyone going through a similar experience wants to have a chat or is just curious about what I study. I would have liked to have someone to reach out to about what I was about to study. So yeah, feel free to reach out about anything I study in the comment section. Again, I study Environmental Science at Monash University in Melbourne.

I’m trying to get through until my 22nd Birthday in July at the moment. Just want to get there all in one piece.

Over the weekend I got through 143km of cycling with friends, girlfriend’s birthday, step-grandmother’s birthday lunch, finishing off Stranger (비밀의 숲) season 1, a lot of naps in between, quizzes for uni, catching up with Family in Germany and a call with my Interpreting & Translating group Nanuda.

After sun and rain, forest and ocean, 0km to 143km with friends. From left: Sam, Zac, me, Laurene

It’s definitely time to stay more focused in my lane, keep my circle closer and focus on my craft. \\

Time to build more on this website too.

¡Hasta luego! – See you later!
